Friday, November 25th marks the launch of Buy Local Week in Tucson - your opportunity to support the LOCAL businesses that support our community (and often times, support our Community Radio!).

73 cents of every dollar spent at a locally-owned business stays in our community, versus only 43 cents spent at a national chain. Those extra 30 cents mean great jobs in our community.

Thanksgiving, Hanksgiving and Just Plain Giving

Thanksgiving:

The KXCI offices will be closed this Thursday and Friday to allow our staff and volunteers the opportunity to share the Thanksgiving holiday with family and friends. We will be open Saturday morning from 9am to noon for your holiday shopping needs - buy local, it stays local!

Hanksgiving:

Tune in on Thursday for extra special programming, including our annual airing of Arlo Guthrie's Alice's Restaurant (8am and 1pm Thursday) and Betsi's annual Hanksgiving celebration on Neutral Ground from 6 to 8pm, featuring music by Hank Williams, covers of Hank songs, songs by other people named Hank (Cochran, Snow, Penny, etc.) and more tunes that will leave you Hank-full.

Just Plain Giving:

Musical Swap Meet December 3rd

On Saturday, December 3rd, KXCI and Rhythm & Roots host a musical swap meet in Suite 147 at Plaza Palomino, featuring rare LPs, CDs, sheet music, instruments, amps, stereos, radios, pro audio, mixers, racks, outboard gear and more.

The event runs from 9am to 4pm. Early bird admission at 9am is $5; after 10am admission is just $2. Learn more at RhythmAndRoots.org. Interested vendors should contact Jonathan at 319-9966.

KXCI is seeking donations of used musical instruments, amps, microphones, mixers and pro audio gear to sell at the event. If you’ve got musical instruments or gear you don’t need, donate it to KXCI for this sale. We’ll be accepting donations during regular business hours at the station, 220 South Fourth Avenue.
