KXCI Earth Day Broadcast- Friday April 22

Join us Friday April 22 for a day long on air celebration of the 41st anniversary of Earth Day. We'll be marking this milestone with special programming from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. We'll also be commemorating the 1st anniversary of our solar panels that were installed by Technicians for Sustainability.

Your Morning Brew, The Music Mix and The Home Stretch will be spinning a blend of fun Earthy music including some of the classics and some new favorites. We'll also be hearing from local environmental leaders and community voices throughout the day with information on ecological advances.

Arizona International Film Festival Continues Through April 20th

KXCI is a proud sponsor of the 20th annual Arizona International Film Festival, April 1st through April 20th, featuring more than 135 films from 25 countries.

Films are shown at venues throughout our community, including The Screening Room, Fox Tucson Theatre, and Crossroads Festival.

2nd Saturdays Downtown this weekend



KXCI is a proud sponsor of 2nd Saturdays Downtown, this Saturday and the 2nd Saturday of every month in downtown Tucson. Learn more at their website.

Highlights for April include: Free performances by the Tucson Symphony Orchestra's POPS at the Fox Tucson Theatre. They will perform the "Best of Broadway" at 7 and 8pm.

Folkapalooza, a fundraiser for the Tucson Folk Festival, starting at 6pm at Hotel Congress. The night features music by Free Range Folk (Namoli Brennet, Leila Lopez and Courtney Robbins), Carniveleros, Brian Lopez, Ice-9, The Mike and Randy Show, and The Last Call Girls. $10 donation at the door.

The Music Matters benefit takes to the Rialto Theatre stage in support of arts education in our public schools. The night features Howe Gelb joined by members of Calexico and Giant Sand, with several special guests. 7pm, $21 at the door ($13 for kids).

A free screening of Disney's Fantasia on the outdoor screen starting at 6:15pm.

The Scott Avenue stage offers The Tryst, Deceptively Innocent, Shaky Bones, and Ballet Folklorico Tapatio, with in-between-sets drumming by Odaiko Sonora.
