Win tickets to see Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers

As played on KXCI!
Tell us why you should win tickets to see Steve Martin August 21st at the Fox... and you might win tickets to see Steve Martin August 21st at the Fox. Plus dinner downtown at 47 Scott!

We're holding an essay contest to give away a pair of tickets to see Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers in a bluegrass-comedy concert on August 21st at the historic Fox Tucson Theatre in downtown Tucson. We're looking for KXCI fans willing to write a short essay - 150 words maximum - on either of these two topics:

1) Why do you deserve to win the tickets? (Karma? Missed opportunity to see Steve at some other previous date and time? It's your spouse's birthday? Because you're broke?)

2) What are your favorite things about life in Tucson? (Currently, a memory, or both)

Don't be afraid to think outside the box. A panel of KXCI deejays and staff will judge all essays received based on several criteria, including originality, creativity, how many times you say you love KXCI and oh yes, spelling. Definitely spelling. Essays on topic #2 may be displayed as part of the Tucson Birthday celebration in August, so keep it "all ages."

Completed essays - again, up to 150 words - should be e-mailed to by August 2nd. A winner will be announced during the week of August 8th. Thank you and happy composing!
