KXCI Community Radio: Giving Back To Our Community

At KXCI Community Radio, our deejays, staff, board and our members take pride in serving our community. It is with that pride that we share with you that during the months of October, November and December 2009, KXCI Community Radio aired 2,944 public service announcements at no cost for other non-profit organizations in our community.

This giving back by Community Radio had an estimated value more than $47,000. Additionally (but less quantifiably) KXCI also provides community service through interviews, special programs, our community calendar, by donating auction items and services, and in many other ways.

Announcements were aired for organizations running the gamut from the Community Food Bank, Luz Social Services and the Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation to the Tucson Arizona Boys Chorus, Tucson Kitchen Musicians Association and the Fox Tucson Theatre. For a complete list of non-profit organizations that received KXCI public service announcements in the past three months, please click on our PSA report (provided in Excel format):

KXCI To Offer Online Board of Elections Voting

KXCI Board of Directors Election Committee Important Online Voting Information

The KXCI Board of Directors has decided to implement secure online voting as an option for the next Board of Directors election in 2010. It is hoped that online voting will increase participation in our elections, save money, and create a more eco-friendly process.

We are now offering the first "opt-in" period for members to tell us that they would prefer to vote online and not receive a ballot in the mail.

If you are a member and you would prefer to vote online, please go to our homepage (http://kxci.org/) and click the blue "Join Our Email List" box.

If you already receive our weekly e-mails, enter that e-mail. The system will send you a response e-mail with directions to allow you to update your online profile. You will need to enter first and last names, say that you are a KXCI member and say "Yes" to the online voting question.

If you do NOT already receive our weekly e-mails, click the "Join Our Email List" to register for the first time. You will be able to enter your name, say that you are a KXCI member and say yes to online voting.

Don't worry if you cannot decide about online voting at this time. There will be additional reminders about the "opt-in" online voting in the future, and any eligible voter who does not choose online voting for the 2010 election will receive a ballot in the mail.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
