KXCI Presents! and CD Release Party's
This week rounds out a busy week of KXCI Presents! shows and local CD release party's.
KXCI Presents! shows include:
Thao with The Get Down Stay Down performing Wednesday, Nov. 18th at Plush. Thao, with her band The Get Down Stay Down, makes music that blends the creativity of indie rock, the energy of punk and the aesthetic of community radio.
The Generationals perform Thursday, Nov 19th at Club Congress. Their debut CD, Con Law, on Park The Van Records has been a favorite of KXCI DJ's the past few months.
Both groups will be in Studio 2A for live performances on The Homestretch.
Three local CD release party's include:
Nancy McCallion whose new album is Take A Picture Of Me To Show I Was Here, which is a collection of songs that were inspired by a photo exhibit of pictures taken by homeless day laborers in Tucson. The CD release party at The Hut on Friday Nov. 20th, 8pm, is a benefit for the Primavera Foundation, which promotes economic and social justice.
The El Camino Royales have a debut CD called Ladies and Gentlemen... and it is a rippin' mix of originals songs and instrumentals inspired by classic rockabilly, with hefty dashes of soul and surf. They will be in Studio 2A for a live performance on The Homestretch Friday, Nov. 20th. Their CD release party is that same night at Plush with The Mission Creeps and Sunny Italy.
The Hounds have a new EP called The Deuce. The Hounds recently performed in Studio 2A for Locals Only and you can hear that entire set of reggae, blues and hip-hop inspired tunes as a podcast from the link at kxci.org. The CD release party is at Plush Saturday, Nov. 21st with Tom Walbank and The Grand Royale.
