KXCI Powered Down For Safety

Beginning Sunday, May 31st, and expected to last for a week, KXCI is cutting power at its transmittor site to about 25% during daytime hours (roughly 7am to 5pm). These daily "power downs" permit the tower maintenance company safe access to the site for the removal of old equipment from a station co-located with KXCI.

Actual times may vary depending on the work being done. The tower company is working with all stations impacted by the work to keep power reductions to a minimum. Depending on your current level of reception, you may or may not notice a difference in your reception when we are at reduced power. Webstreaming at and the SAP programming available through the Access Tucson channels (Cox/Comcast subscribers) is not impacted.

Thank you for your understanding and patience while we are powered down.

Burger Day @ Sunflower Farmers Market (KXCI Fundraiser)

Join us May 30th at Sunflower Farmers Market, 4625 East Speedway (Speedway at Swan) from 11am to 2pm for "KXCI Burger Day."
You'll be able to enjoy a tasty burger for a buck - that's right, just $1 - with all proceeds supporting KXCI. We'll also be on hand in the parking lot with some station freebies and great music spun by our own Cathy Rivers, host of The Home Stretch.
Other tasty options, including food for our vegetarian friends, will be available in the Sunflower parking lot as well.
We'd like to thank our friends at Sunflower Farmers Market for making this event possible!
Note: The Sunflower Market parking lot is just a short trip from our rummage sale at St. Mark's, happening that same day from 8am to noon. Hint, hint...

Updating KXCI's Website

We're still working out a few bugs, but we're pleased to announce that KXCI is expanding further into the blogosphere by dividing our current blog postings into two new pages: one designed just for KXCI on-the-air news and music events, and one for relaying more "behind the scene" information.

As both blogs at take shape, you'll begin to see how they are different, but also how they work work together to help us convey as much information as you'd like about your Community Radio station, and about your community.

This 'splitting' of the blogs is also one step in a slight redesign of our website that when completed will make an even more dynamic aspect of our service.
