Wednesday's One Cup Of Java Challenge

Wednesday's One Cup of Java Challenge:
On this date in 1972, New Jersey-based band Looking Glass was on top of the music charts. They wouldn’t be there long – Three Dog Night’s “Black And White” would knock Looking Glass out of the top spot after only one week. Looking Glass would never again come anywhere near the top of the charts, solidifying their place as an all-time one hit wonder. That one song, though, can still be found in regular rotation at most oldies stations. Your One Cup question this morning: name the sole hit from Looking Glass, a song on top of the charts 36 years ago today, that tells the fictitious story of a sailor in love.

Answer:
Brandy (You’re A Fine Girl)

Looking Glass didn’t last very long, but lead singer Elliot Lurie has had a successful musical career, on the TV side of things, serving as musical supervisor for shows like “Lizzie McGuire” and movies like Stuart Little.
