Stonewall Day Friday on KXCI
This Friday, June 27th, KXCI will honor the 39th anniversary of Stonewall with special Stonewall Day programming from 7am until 6pm. Both the schedule of on-air hosts as well as the music and content for the day will feature GLBT and GLBT supportive community members, GLBT artists and their music, history, highlights, information, and spoken pieces from and about the gay community locally, nationally, and gay pride & Stonewall Day.
Spoken pieces include:
Cathy Busha from the U of A’s Office of LGBTQ Affairs
Justin Naffzinger – President of Delta Lambda Phi (the gay fraternity at the U of A)
Diane Stapleton – local entrepreneur and owner of Rainbow Planet
Jai Smith – creator of the ‘Walking Names Project’
Jason Cianciotto – the new Executive Director of Wingspan
Kat Beck – Vice President of Students Promoting Respect for Individuality Through Example (SPRITE)
Kellie Olson from the Pride Law Alliance at the James E. Rogers College of Law at the U of A
Penelope Starr – Program Coordinator for Wingspan’s Senior Pride
Richard Di Russo – Coordinator for the GLBT Services division of the Pima County Library
Shari Goettel, James Scott Pignatella, and Bruce Cameron from Desert Voices.
The day’s on-air hosts include:
Randy Peterson from 7-10am on ‘Your Morning Brew’
Newly minted music mixer Jaime G from 10 til noon
Susie B from 1-3pm
Mark Rosenbaum (host of ‘Jazz Sundae’) from 3 – 6pm on 'The Home Stretch.’
Democracy Now will still run at 12 noon, of course!
