How Much Fits In The Sack Of Rome? / One Cup of Java Challenge

Monday's One Cup of Java Challenge: A little ancient history for today’s One Cup of Java Challenge. On this date in 455, an East German tribe entered Rome and for 14 days vandalized the city, taking treasures, citizens as slaves and burning down at least some of the buildings in the most famous of the so-called “sacks of Rome.” At least one church was vandalized, and other buildings, arts and public areas were vandalized, too. While specific details of the vandals attack have been lost to history, we do know the name of the German tribe responsible for vandalizing Rome. Your One Cup of Java Challenge this morning: name this group of vandals.

Answer: Those vandals were the Vandals.
