Tuesday's One Cup of Java Challenge

Tuesday's One Cup of Java Challenge: A little music history for today’s One Cup of Java Challenge question. On this date in 1996, country musician Garth Brooks refused to accept his American Music Award for Favorite Overall Artist, leaving it on the podium after saying that another band had done more for music that year than he did. Keeping in mind that this was 1996 – your One Cup question this morning – what band, whose most recent studio album was 2005’s Looking For Lucky – did Garth think should have been honored?

Answer: Hootie and the Blowfish

Bonus Blog Trivia: 1996 was the first and only year the AMAs awarded this particular category.

What a great question! I just Hootie & the Blowfish and its rare that anyone will write anything positive about them. So for all the Hootie haters in the world, please give props to four of the nicest guys in the music industry.
