Remembering Dee Dee Ramone / One Cup Of Java Challenge

Tuesday's One Cup of Java question: Dee Dee Ramone died 5 years ago today. As the bass player and chief songwriter for the Ramones, Dee Dee Ramone crafted out a career in punk that saw the band inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame shortly before his death. Lesser known was Dee Dee’s rap career, which saw him release one solo rap album in 1988 called “Standing in the Spotlight,” a record that has been frequently called one of the worst albums of the 80s, deservedly so. At least he had the common sense to release it under another name. Your One Cup question this morning – to give us Dee Dee Ramone’s not-so-creative rap name, from his 1988 album.

One Cup Answer: Dee Dee King

Bonus Blog Trivia: Debbie Harry provides guest vocals on the rap album that she'd probably also like to forget.
