Movies Not Starring Bruce Willis
The big screen lights up with some great movies this July in downtown Tucson - and not a single one of these films features Bruce Willis blowing up anything.
Cinema La Placita Cinema is an outdoor film series that screens classic films in the courtyard at La Placita in downtown Tucson. Films begin at 7:30pm each Thursday evening. For a $3 suggested donation you can see:
(July 5) Jaws. Amity Island had everything. Clear skies. Gentle surf. Warm water. People flocked there every summer. It was the perfect feeding ground. The original summer blockbuster!
(July 12) Dodsworth. A film that often appears on various critic's "most underrated films" lists, Dodsworth stars Walter Huston, Ruth Chatterton and Mary Astor in a bittersweet tale of love lost.
(July 19) My Fair Lady. Audrey Hepburn. Rex Harrison. 'Nuff said.
(July 26) Stir Crazy. Gene Wilder. Richard Pryor. 'Nuff said.
If you prefer your films indoors, there aren't many "indoors" more beautiful than the Fox Tucson Theatre. Upcoming films in their "Summer Movies at the Fox" film series on Saturdays include:
