The Hub - Special Holiday Shows!

The Hub will be celebrating the Holiday Season on Saturday December 23, 2006 with the third annual Holiday Hub. The Hub begins at 11pm and ends at 2am! As always, it will be wall to wall Holiday music—indie and oddities. I view it as a prophetic call to arms against the cheese-drenched festive songs that assault our innocent ears every year at this time.

Christmas is a season of hearty food, good cheer and heartfelt joy. It’s a time to forget our differences and unite under a banner of peace and understanding. But just as the world joins hands and sings of good will towards others, someone puts on Kenny G’s ‘Christmas Memories’ and in an instant the fragile moment of unity is shattered. There is a respite from the pain. Join Bob Girth as he hosts a very special Holiday Hub this Saturday December 23rd from 11:00pm—2:00am. He’ll play a different kind of holiday music totally Kenny G-free. Yule laugh, Yule cry, Yule spit eggnog through your nose. Because after all, that’s what Christmas is all about.

Also, I will be celebrating the New Year a little early this year with a very special Hippie Hub Saturday December 30, 2006. It’s the fourth annual ‘What’s so Funny About Peace, Love and Tie-Dyed Paisley Suspenders?’

Underground FM radio from the late 60’s and early 70’s was a freeform playground of spontaneity. Play list? We don’t need no stinking play list. Just let me hear some of those deep tracks, my friend. Bob Girth celebrates the music from the golden age of Album Rock on Saturday December 30, 2006 11:00pm—2:00am. So dab a little patchouli oil behind your ears, light up that dusty old strobe candle and bring in the New Year hippie style. Everything old is new again.

Yours truly,

-Bob Girth
