Four Local Artists Releasing CDs on December 9th

Tis the season for local music releases! In the past few weeks, Tucson has seen CD release parties from a whole slew of local artists, including The New Drakes, The Beta Sweat, The Last Call Girls, Found Dead on the Phone, George Squier Orchestra, Rich Hopkins & the Luminarios, and Diane Van Deurzen, among many others.

If you're still looking for that perfect stocking-stuffer for the music fan on your Christmas list, then take note! The well of new local music certainly hasn't run dry, as there are no less than FOUR local bands/musicians releasing new albums on Saturday, December 9th. Since you're already going to be downtown for the Parade of Lights, then consider checking out one of these local artists as they celebrate their new releases:

Leila Lopez will be at Solar Culture Gallery in a show beginning at 7:30pm on December 9th, as she releases her new album, The Roots and The Crops.

The Tryst will be unleashing their new album, Thirsty World, in a festive shindig at The Hut, beginning around 9pm on December 9th. You can expect great opening performances from Feta & Shiraz and Ghost Cow.

If you're feeling brave, you can head on over to The Rock, where shock-rockers Sin Machine and the aggressive metal band You Apart will join forces for a dual CD release party for Sin Machine's Romanticizing Violence and You Apart's What Hides in Dreams. They'll flesh out this heavy-hitting bill with performances from Ph8 and Stands With a Fist. The show kicks off at 7pm on December 9th.

With 2007 approaching on the horizon, there's just no stopping the release of great local music... keep your eyes and ears open for CD release parties in January from James London, as well as this year's Arizona Daily Star High School Battle of the Bands winner Afrodelic Stegosaurchestra. Not to mention KXCI's CD Release Party for the latest Locals Only compilation on February 2nd.

Support local music, support live music!
