Thanksgiving Day Special Programming on KXCI

Spend Thanksgiving Day with Community Radio!

Tune to 91.3FM KXCI on Thursday, November 23rd for a special menu of tasty musical treats beginning at 10am.

Alice's Restaurant (10-10:30am)
Arlo Guthrie's timeless classic satire against the Vietnam War draft and widespread anti-hippie prejudice.

Concert For Bangladesh (10:30-Noon)
Organized by George Harrison and held on the afternoon and evening of August 1, 1971 to an audience of 40,000 in Madison Square Garden this benefit concert featured Ravi Shankar, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, Leon Russell, Bob Dylan and many more.

The Last Waltz (Noon-3pm)
The Band's final concert, held on Thanksgiving 1976, this year represents the 30-year Anniversary of this unforgettable performance. Held at the Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco, The Band made rock music history by compiling one of the most extensive line-ups of guest performers for a single concert. Featuring performances by Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Paul Butterfield, Muddy Waters, Eric Clapton, Emmylou Harris, Van Morrison, Bob Dylan, Ringo Starr, Stephen Stills, Dr John and many more!

The Byrds - There Is A Season / Further Along (4-6pm)
Two one-hour documentaries featuring the wide range of music that made The Byrds one of the 60's most influential bands, along with commentary by its two longest-lasting members, Roger McGuinn and Chris Hillman.

And of course, for an exotic dessert - stay tuned at 6pm for Global Rhythm Radio featuring music flavored with spices from around the world!
