Jimi Hendrix Birthday Broadcast - Sat. 25th

Join Jason Miles and The Connection this Saturday, November 25th for the
Annual Jimi Hendrix Birthday Broadcast. This year's show will focus on
the years before Hendrix turned popular music upside down with his
innovative and other worldly guitar sounds while playing behind R&B
legends like Little Richard, Lonnie Youngblood, Ray Sharpe, The Isley
Brothers, Jayne Mansfield, Don Covay, Curtis Knight and a host of other
Chitlin Circuit performers.

The music featured will be rare and obscure 45's and the broadcast will
be sprinkled with interviews of Jimi throughout the broadcast telling
his own story as a struggling guitar player before fame made him a
legend. If you're a fan of Jimi Hendrix or the history of Rock 'n'
Roll, this isn't a show to miss.

The Connection - Saturday nights 9-11pm following the Blues Review with
Marty Kool.

As both a long time member and now a Community Advisory Board member as well, I would be interested in reading any comments about how KXCI handles Thanksgiving. It appears that the "tradition" of all music all day continues. Anybody out there think KXCI should be offering any other viewpoints/programming on Thursday. Any other parts of our community being left out? Any educational components the station might be adding to the schedule? Any comments on what other community stations do on this day? Anybody want to talk about historical perspective on past kxci T-day broadcasts? For unmoderated discussion go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/KXCIBulletinBoard/

You have to join, but anybody is eligible and it can be anonymous.

I think I might have missed signing the last comment, and I see there is now a post specifically about Thursday's programming - perhaps you could add my name if I didn't sign it and move it up there.

Thanks,
Kali
