New Show - 'Simple Folk' - Begins This Saturday!

KXCI's long-time volunteer programmer and host of Breakfast Cafe is taking a few months off. So... filling the Breakfast Cafe time-slot (Saturdays 6-8am) for the next 13 weeks, we are pleased to present a brand-new show!

The show is Simple Folk... simple, straight forward Folk music, ranging from the era of Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger on up to present contemporary artists looming on the Folk horizon. Features within the show will be the 'Folk Spotlight'... a brief illumination (bio) on the lives and careers of some of the best (past and present) of the Folk tradition, featuring a different artist each week. Also, the 'Dewey Decimal Set'... Folk music available on CD from your Tucson Pima Public Library.

This new program will be hosted by volunteer programmer Henry Hallett. Henry has been producing Brainwaves on Tuesday mornings and has been a regular sub on several other shows.

We invite you to tune in for the debut of Simple Folk this Saturday beginning at 6am.
