KXCI Signal Modulations

Our engineers are working on re-establishing the digital signal at our transmitter on Mt. Bigelow today. If you notice that KXCI is broadcasting at a lower volume or some drop-outs occur... don't worry. We hope to have these issues resolved by the end of the day.

Seems to be continuing today (Tuesday) I wonder if this warrants a notice right on the front page of the website? I suspect not many know about this blog yet.

Gee Kali... you must be psychic. I had posted our 'Technical Difficulties' message on the front page this morning, but there is a significant delay in our system for updating the front page. Hence, one of the big reasons we wanted to create this info-blog - to be a space for quick updates and information.

Alas, just the thing I was afraid of - as soon as the front page updated with the technical difficulties info - the technical difficulites were resolved. Now, begins the delay in removing the information from the front page.

We feel very confident that many of our listeners are aware of this blog as we have had many messages and calls of thanks for posting the technical difficulty info on the blog.

Celia, It must be very gratifying to get such an outpouring of gratitude from the community for that information. It is odd, though, that every single one of those many listeners chose to call the station or 'send' a message instead of sharing that gratitude by simply posting to this blog.

Odd.

Could you tell us how much of a delay is in your system for updating the front page?

Thanks.

Yes, it is nice to hear from grateful listeners!

I suppose some are more comfortable making a phone call or sending an email rather than making a public post.

The feed delay from the Arts section to the front page depends on how busy the server is. Often, if I add an article in the morning, the delay can be up to one hour. However, if I add an article or podcast in the later afternoon or evening the delay is only 5 to 10 minutes.

Thanks for your interest!
