KXCI Cell Phone Recycling Program

Ever wonder how to get rid of your old, unneeded cell phone - considered toxic waste, so you can't in good conscience just toss it in the trash?

KXCI has the answer. We've started a new cell phone recycling program that helps the environment AND makes money for KXCI.

Through the Wireless Alliance, old cell phones donated to KXCI will be wiped clean, refurbished, sold on the used market, and/or melted down to recapture their minerals (meaning they won't have to mine more).

KXCI will make on average $3-4 per phone, and KXCI has NO costs in the program.

You can learn more by visiting KXCI.org and clicking the "Donate That Phone" link. Through that website, you can enter your phone model and it will give you instructions on how to return the phone.

But I can do you one better than that - you can just drop the phone in the cell phone recycling box at the station, 220 South Fourth Avenue in Tucson. You don't have to do anything else, and when we have enough phones, we'll just ship the whole box to the Wireless Alliance, again at no charge.

How 'bout it? Clean out those junk drawers, closets and cubby holes and get those old phones working again - working for YOUR Community Radio KXCI.

PLEASE SHARE THIS MESSAGE WITH OTHERS YOU KNOW. IT HELPS KXCI AND THE PLANET.

Thanks,

-Randy

Good work. I recently recyled my old unused mobile phone for charity donation.
